On June 28, 2021, Monday, Digvijaya Singh who is a Congress member of the Rajya Sabha, filed a complaint with the help of Madhya Pradesh cyber police in connection with the alleged leak of a Clubhouse app chat in which he is implied to be discussing a “relook” at the revocation of Article 370 and the denial of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Digvijaya Singh further told the reporters that he had also filed a case under the Information Technology Act with the cyber police assembly against those persons who modified, altered, broadcasted, and misrepresented his statement during a Clubhouse session in an attempt to smudge his image. He further added that “An FIR should also be inaugurated against those people who shared and retweeted the post and issuing legal letters to Clubhouse app for allegedly releasing this modified discussion.

When reached, State Cyber Cell Superintendent of Police Gurkaran Singh told PTI(Press Trust of India) that the Congress politician had filed a complaint under the Information Technology Act but that no case had been lodged yet. And the Superintendent of Police added that “following the investigation, we will take additional measures. In this case, the police would seek information from social media platforms”.
