Commerzbank, a German bank, has launched an Artificial Intelligence Banking Avatar powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI service for advanced GPT models. The new text-to-speech service of Microsoft Azure is said to allow for compelling digital avatars, enabling effective responses to customers by way of the sought human-digital interaction setup. The project aims to simplify customer experience, especially in the requirement of customer credentials, which has been entirely digital. It would be started as a mobile application to an initial target group of 2.2 million active users of the Banking application.
The use of its Avatar technology combines conventional and Generative Artificial Intelligence to provide general and specific information to the bank’s customers. Besides convenience, an emphasis has been laid down on data security, utilising Microsoft Azure’s security measures and compliance measures, including global ones such as the Centre for Internet Security (CIS Benchmarks), Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and System and Organisation Controls (SOC) compliances, as well as Germany – specific ones, such as Germany C5:20 and Germany IT – Grundschutz Workbook.
